In 2014, K&D closed on the financing for the $61 million historic renovation and conversion of the Halle Building. The Halle Building is an iconic building with a commanding presence on Euclid Avenue in the Theater District of Cleveland, and was originally built to be the home of the Halle Brothers Department Store in the early 1920’s. When the retailer closed its doors in the 1980’s, the building was converted to office space, with retail and a food court on the lower levels.
K&D is currently converting the property into 123 one, two and three-bedroom luxury apartment suites tailored for residents who want to live downtown, but aren’t ready to downsize. Large, spacious suites at Residences at Halle will be available for occupancy in the summer of 2018, offering well-designed kitchens, bathrooms, living spaces, and much more.
The lower level will house the gym and conference center. Floors one through five will consist of retail, restaurant and office space; the major re-development work is currently underway. New tenants who recently moved into this space include the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, Yours Truly Restaurant, Everstream Solutions, and the Republican Party of Cuyahoga County. The Halle Garage, situated on Huron Road, directly across from the main building is slated for extensive renovations and improvements.
This is K&D’s fifth major historic renovation Downtown, and follows the highly successful and acclaimed Residences at Leader, Residences at 1717, The Residences at Hanna and The Residences at 668, all boasting 100% occupancy with wait lists for future residents.
Berardi + Partners of Columbus is the Project Architect, and they have designed high-end finishes and luxury appointments to meet the demands of young professionals and empty nesters alike. Units feature granite countertops, Smudge-Proof™ Stainless Steel appliances, beautiful white cabinetry with soft close, upscale lighting package with coordinating plumbing fixtures, hard surface flooring with carpeted bedrooms, in-suite washer and dryer, fireplace in all suites, and are wired for high-speed internet and cable television. Residences at Halle also features all-LED lighting and individually controlled high efficiency heating and air conditioning.
