In 2015, K&D closed on the financing for the $62 million historic renovation and conversion of the Leader Building. Located prominently at the southwest corner of E. 6th Street and Superior Avenue, the 15-story stone masonry building, originally constructed in 1913 as the headquarters for the Cleveland Leader newspaper, is being transformed into a luxury high-rise apartment building with 224 one and two bedroom apartments above 22,000 sq. ft. of street-level retail and 37,000 sq. ft. of commercial office space on the second and third floors. The newly renovated mixed-use building is known as Residences at Leader.
This is K&D’s fourth major historic renovation Downtown, and follows the highly successful and acclaimed Residences at 1717, The Residences at 668 and The Residences at Hanna. First occupancy began in February of this year and is expected to be complete this August.
